About The Position

The Data Center Project Manager - Logistics (DCPM-L) at Microsoft plays a crucial role in managing logistics operations for the U.S. Government Airgap team. This position is responsible for overseeing inbound and outbound logistics, inventory management, warranty processes, and ensuring compliance with data destruction protocols. The DCPM-L will also provide thought leadership in procurement and operational excellence while fostering a culture of safety and customer service within the team.

Requirements

  • High School Qualification or equivalent AND 2+ years experience in IT equipment support or server/network deployment projects.
  • Active U.S. Government Top Secret Security Clearance is required.
  • Ability to meet Microsoft and government security screening requirements.
  • Verification of U.S. citizenship due to legal restrictions.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's or Technical College Degree in relevant fields such as Computer Science or Supply Chain Management.
  • 5+ years experience in Critical Environment infrastructures or physical IT infrastructures.
  • Applicable certifications such as APICS, CompTIA, PMP, or ITIL.
  • 1+ year of project management experience.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day operations of inbound and outbound logistics processes.
  • Lead a team in inventory management and regulatory compliance audits.
  • Oversee the warranty process and ensure effective handling of Return Merchandise Authorizations (RMA).
  • Ensure the destruction of Data Bearing Devices (DBDs) and compliance with customer information security.
  • Provide leadership in procurement processes and contract execution.
  • Drive operational excellence and compliance with defined policies and procedures.
  • Conduct daily safety huddles and manage escalated task risks.
  • Ensure effective communication and resolution of issues with stakeholders.
