The Data Center Physical Security Manager at Amazon Web Services (AWS) is responsible for overseeing and managing security programs within cleared facilities, ensuring the protection of personnel, National Security Information, and critical infrastructure. This role involves executing multiple security disciplines, managing onsite security forces, and supporting fast-moving classified operations. The position requires a strong background in program/project management and a deep understanding of government security programs and requirements.

  • Provide comprehensive program security guidance concerning personnel, physical and operational security, counterintelligence, and media management.
  • Create, implement, communicate, and manage security requirements at a large, government accredited, multi-facility data center site.
  • Draft/review security documentation including notifications, standards, procedures, and CONOPs.
  • Proactively identify security requirements, potential issues, and solutions to enhance security.
  • Support the operations and maintenance of security hardware and systems onsite.
  • Develop and strengthen relationships with internal staff and external partners to heighten security awareness.
  • Direct and manage onsite security forces for daily data center security operations.
  • Manage the classified material program to ensure compliance with security policies and practices.
  • Experience with workflow ticketing and extraction of performance metrics.
  • Participate in on-call rotations for alarm response and security incidents.
  • Provide after-hours on-call management support as needed.
  • Participate in data center security audits, inspections, and reviews.
  • Execute compliance processes with AWS policies and relevant legal requirements.
  • Travel between local facilities as required.
  • Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI.
  • 4+ years of experience as a Program Security Officer, Security Specialist, or Security Manager overseeing security operations.
  • 4+ years of experience with physical security best practices, including management of contract security guards and incident management.
  • 4+ years of data-driven decision making.
  • Experience with secure facility requirements and government regulations related to classified program management.
  • Driven to provide responsive support to internal and external customers.
  • Desire to take ownership of projects outside of expertise.
  • ASIS CPP, PSP, PMI PMP or other related certifications.
  • Experience in access control and video surveillance systems (e.g. LENEL).
  • Experience dealing with security vendors and contractors.
