The Data Center Operations Technician role at Amazon involves maintaining and troubleshooting a range of data center infrastructure issues, including hardware, fiber, and networking problems.   • Troubleshoot and resolve data center infrastructure issues including hardware, fiber, and networking problems.
  • Engage in physical data center activities such as planning and tracking capacity, rack deployment, and cabling.
  • Lift and move materials up to 40 pounds.
  • Work in cramped and/or elevated locations and perform physical tasks such as bending, lifting, and stretching.
  • Stand and walk for extended periods, up to 8+ hours a day.
  • Ascend and descend ladders, stairs, and gangways safely.
  • Work shifts longer than 8 hours to support 24/7 operations, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Associate's degree in IT-related field or equivalent professional or military experience.
  • 2+ years of experience with server hardware.
  • 1+ years of experience with UNIX/Linux operating systems.
  • Hands-on experience with hardware platforms such as Dell or HP.
  • Networking experience with CCNA and/or Network+ certifications.
  • Previous experience working in a Data Center environment, including racking & stacking gear and cable management.
