About The Position

We are seeking a hands-on Data Center Operations Project Manager to lead daily data center operations and execute infrastructure and operational projects across on-site and remote production environments. This role blends technical execution with operational leadership, vendor coordination, and project delivery in a mission-critical environment. The ideal candidate is comfortable working on the data center floor, leading teams through live production work, and partnering with cross-functional stakeholders to maintain uptime, safety, and compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in technical field or equivalent practical experience
  • 8+ years of experience in computing infrastructure, networking, operating systems, or hardware
  • 5+ years of experience leading technical teams, vendors, or service delivery
  • Ability to work non-standard hours, including nights, weekends, and on-call rotations
  • This role requires regular on-site presence in the data center
  • Periodic travel to remote production sites may be required
  • On-call and after-hours support is an essential function of this role
  • Experience supporting production data center or critical infrastructure environments, supporting a Tier II/Tier III level site, per Uptime Institute classifications
  • Strong hands-on background with rack & stack, structured cabling (fiber and copper), and power systems

  • Working knowledge of AC and DC power infrastructure (UPS, power distribution, generators, batteries)
  • AT&T TP 76400
  • Experience with Change Management, MOPs, and live production maintenance windows
  • Experience coordinating third-party vendors and remote hands
  • Familiarity with security and compliance requirements (SSAE 16, HIPAA, PCI DSS, CFIUS)
  • Experience supporting multi-site or geographically distributed operations
  • Experience in creating and managing capital budget for data centers

Responsibilities

  • Oversee rack & stack, hardware installs/removals, break/fix, and decommissioning per AT&T TP 76300 and 76400 guidelines
  • Oversee installation and termination of Ethernet and fiber cabling; support ladder rack and fiber trough installations per AT&T TP 76305
  • Familiarity of installation of DC power cabling and grounding; support AC and DC power planning at cabinet and distribution levels per AT&T TP 76416
  • Conduct daily rounds and site health checks; record and analyze operational metrics
  • Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation supporting data center emergencies (local and remote site)
  • Replace and/or support internal hardware components (drives, memory, fans) and load base configurations for remote access
  • Plan and execute operational and infrastructure projects in live production environments
  • Create and manage Change Requests (CRs) and execute approved MOPs
  • Develop project scope, schedules, cost estimates and annual budget for materials and labor
  • Write and publish maintenance and outage notifications
  • Escort and oversee third-party vendors and contractors on-site
  • Schedule and support preventative maintenance for critical systems (UPS, DC power, generators, cooling, fire suppression)
  • Manage hardware repairs, returns, and logistics
  • Provide oversight and task coordination for remote production sites and remote hands
  • Travel to remote sites as required
  • Maintain accurate hardware, cabinet, and electrical panel inventory records
  • Support space, power, and cooling capacity planning
  • Support security, compliance, and audit activities (e.g., SSAE 16, HIPAA, PCI DSS, customer audits)
  • Ensure proper decommissioning and secure disposal of hardware
  • Partner with Engineering, Facilities, Security, and Operations teams to ensure uptime and operational readiness
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to deliver safe, compliant, and timely work

  • Your Pay The salary range for this position is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, and the candidate's combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience.
  • Short-Term Variable Compensation Plan : Your pay also includes the opportunity for an annual bonus. Actual bonus payouts are based on performance of the business against the unit's objectives, individual performance, and the individual bonus target. Certain eligibility and pro-ration rules apply.

  • Your Time Your work-life balance is important to us. New employees are provided a minimum of 15 days of accrued vacation, up to 3 personal days per year, 11 annual holidays, 8 hours of volunteer time, and 80 hours of sick time annually. Please note paid time off is pro-rated based on the employee's start date. Furthermore, Ericsson provides up to 16 weeks of paid maternity leave and 6 weeks of parental or adoption leave at 100% of pay.
