Title Data Center Manager Reports To Director, HPC Operations The Job Provides direct supervision to professional contributors and/or skilled support to individual contributors. Acts as a guide to site operations teams, vendors, and contractors and may become actively involved, as required, to meet operational standards, project schedules, and resolve problems. Creates a culture of professionalism and operational excellence, fostering a workplace where people love to work and build a career.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, a related field , or equivalent experience is required
  • 5 + years of progressively responsible data center-related experience is
  • 1 year of supervisory/leadership experience is
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills are
  • Exceptional understanding of network, electrical, mechanical , and building systems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Working knowledge of HPC computer equipment and network infrastructure

Nice To Haves

  • An advanced degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct supervision to the Data Center Technicians , overall data center supervision, and routine operational plans
  • Ensures the team is fulfilling responsibilities on time and projects are progressing, as expected.
  • Manage payroll , positioning, hire/fire, reviews, coaching , and development.
  • Assists with testing and coordinating projects and maintenance.
  • Plan, coordinate, budget, and implement resources to complete projects and maintenance within the data center.
  • Meets target typically against a monthly plan.
  • Assists with new construction commissioning, as necessary, documenting and reporting all problems.
  • Communicates and coordinates activities and on-site staff during an incident
  • Foster open, respectful, and professional communication directly within the team as well as with co-workers/ teammates and leaders across the organization.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
