As the Data Center Lead for the Great Falls Public School District, you'll be amongst the most senior members of the Information Technology department. As a veteran professional, you will lead and support the Data Center in providing mission critical technology services for the entire district. You will provide expert knowledge of district technologies to staff and other IT technicians. In addition, your responsibilities will include managing the day-to-day operations of the Data Center, communicating clear instructions to other team members, as well as receiving feedback, and developing strategies to reach designated goals. You will be assigned the most difficult projects, tasks and situations to ensure successful completion. You'll assist our 1600+ staff members in helping shape the future of over 10,000 students. Your experience and seasoned expertise will provide additional strength to the district team of technology professionals.

  • Lead and support the Data Center in providing mission critical technology services.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the Data Center.
  • Communicate clear instructions to team members and receive feedback.

  • Understanding of all components of an enterprise technology network.
  • Advanced network management skills - wired and wireless.
  • Understanding of Student Information Systems and Business applications.

  • Ability to communicate in a positive manner with staff.
  • Proven leadership and mentorship abilities.
  • BS in Computer Science or Engineering.
  • Five years + experience in a business enterprise Information Technology environment.
  • Expert knowledge of network services, servers, e-mail, SAN, VMWare, HyperV.
  • Experience with routers/firewalls, internet content web filter, spam filter.
  • Background in programming languages for coding customizations and automation of tasks.
  • Provide leadership and guidance for Data Center personnel.
  • Configuration and support of core Microsoft network services - DNS, DHCP, AD, etc.
  • Maintain border security by configuring and updating Router/Firewall.
  • Configuration and support of Internet Web Content Filter.
  • WAN controls and management of wired/wireless connections to buildings.
  • Knowledge of Brocade ICX family of network switches and Ruckus R series access points.
  • Oversight and management of mission critical applications - PowerSchool, Infinite Visions, etc.
  • Oversight and management of district servers, SAN, VMWare.
  • Preferred programming languages - Powershell, Command Shell Scripts, SQL, HTML, JavaScript.
  • Miscellaneous duties that include enrollment projections, phone directory, filemaker routines, help desk software.
  • Base Salary: 90,958.00 (Dependent on experience)
