About The Position

The Data Center Lead supports the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center (DLIFLC) Academic Network Labor Contract to administer, maintain, secure, and accredit the DLIFLC Academic Network, which provides the IT environment for 100% of the DLIFLC teaching and instructing for all students, staff, faculty, and guests in a learning environment at the unclassified level.

Requirements

  • Educational requirements include BA/BS from an accredited college or university with a minimum of 5+ years experience, or substitute with 9+ years of progressive experience in serving as a data center system administrator.
  • Require any one of the following IAT Level II (CCNA Security, CSA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+CE, or SSCP) Certifications and applicable CE/OS Certification.
  • Experience leading a team
  • Experience maintaining a high availability datacenter
  • Experience with Amazon, Microsoft, or Google cloud services.
  • Experience with VMware vSphere platform.
  • Extensive experience in both application development/sustainment as well as operational support for large, highly scalable applications.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the lead of the Data Center Operations, which includes the responsibilities of proper configuration and support of domain system servers, SAN, backup systems, identity management, and security of the data center.
  • Duties include planning, installation, maintenance during or after-work hours, troubleshooting, and managing all servers and applications.
  • Duties will include assessment of customer needs and implementation of improved configurations for customer needs.
