About The Position

The Data Center Installation Technician role at Leapros Skilled Trades involves working on structured cabling projects in the Columbus, OH area. This position is open to candidates of all skill levels, from seasoned professionals to those just starting their careers. Technicians will be responsible for installing and maintaining cabling infrastructure, ensuring efficient communication and signal transmission in data centers.

Requirements

• Previous experience in structured cabling and telecommunications installation is a plus but not required
• Fiber splicing and termination is a plus but not required
• Knowledge of universal color codes for cable identification and labeling
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Outside Plant (OSP) experience is a plus

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with industry standards such as EIA, TIA, BICSI, or NEC is preferred

Responsibilities

• Install support structures, such as cable trays and conduit, for efficient cable routing
• Pull and route low-voltage cabling, including CAT 5/6, coaxial, fiber optics, and more
• Terminate cable and distribution frames, ensuring proper connections and signal transmission
• Troubleshoot cable infrastructure on commercial or industrial projects, identifying and resolving issues promptly
• Communicate effectively with team members, including fellow technicians, Project Managers, and Superintendents
• Rack and stack work, closet work, putting together server racks, patch panels
