MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT As a DCIM resource the work you will do at GDIT will be instrumental in supporting the US Army Intelligence and Security Command (INSCOM). You will play a vital role in solving complex challenges, driving innovation, and delivering smarter solutions for the mission. Lead/Advise: Provide support, analysis, and solutions for exceptionally complex problems and processes, offering technical direction and interpretation to guide mission success. Collaborate: Serve as key focal point to brainstorm and implement advancements in IT, systems architecture, cybersecurity, and systems integration in the aspect of O&M support of existing DCIM environment. Innovate: Identify emerging technologies and recommend improvements to current systems and processes, ensuring optimal functionality and security for cutting-edge technology operations. Advise and Lead: Develop long-term strategies for datacenter growth, including capacity planning for space, power, and cooling, and propose them to Government leadership. Lead incident responses for facility or infrastructure-related issues to minimize downtime and business impact. Monitor and Optimize: Utilize Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) software to enhance resource utilization, performance, and energy efficiency to monitor critical systems. That include power (UPSs, PDUs, generators), cooling (HVAC, CRAC units), fire suppression, and building management systems (BMS). . Implement and Enforce: Develop, implement, and enforce operational best practices and security protocols for the datacenter environment. Oversee Preventive Maintenance: Implement and manage a comprehensive preventive maintenance program to ensure the longevity, reliability, and resiliency of all infrastructure equipment. Document and Maintain: Maintain meticulous documentation of all systems and operations, including asset management, network layouts, administration and procedures. Manage Vendors: Build and maintain relationships with external vendors, contractors, and service providers to ensure adherence to service-level agreements (SLAs) and quality standards. Project Leadership: Oversee infrastructure upgrades, retrofits, and new build-outs, ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope, and on budget. System and Workflow Oversight: Oversee system allocations, functional workflows, and technical processes to support optimized performance.

Requirements

  • +10 years of related experience
  • Strong expertise in various IT domains, such as Networking and Red Hat Enterprise Linux administration
  • Ability to perform in high-paced, mission-critical environments with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with tools like Microsoft Services (SharePoint, Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint, Visio, etc.).
  • Security clearance level: TS/SCI
  • US citizenship required
  • DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II/8140 Computing Environment (CE) Certification as determined by the Program Manager is required prior to support on contract.
  • IAT II 8570/8140 Baseline Certification IAT-II (Security+)
  • Computing Environment certification: MS, RHEL or CCNA.
  • Daily support on-site at the customer location.
  • Willingness and ability to attain a CI Polygraph for specific positions as required.
  • Position may involve moderately strenuous activities such as lifting IT hardware, reaching, bending, or kneeling to plug in cables.
  • Travel as needed to support mission objectives.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) software and tools like AutoCAD is preferred.
  • Knowledge of cabling standards, power requirements and HVAC requirements and understand how they may impact the environment.
