We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Data Center Floor Supervisor to oversee daily operations on the data center floor. This role is responsible for supervising technicians and sub-contractors, ensuring adherence to safety and operational protocols, collecting and reporting splicing data, and maintaining high standards of work quality and efficiency. Willing to work a rotating shift (not Monday through Friday). Also willing to work night shift.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in a related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in data center operations, fiber splicing, or network infrastructure.
  • Proven leadership or supervisory experience in a technical environment.
  • Strong understanding of fiber optic splicing, testing, and documentation.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high pressure, physically demanding environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with data center infrastructure management (DCIM) tools.
  • Experience with safety and compliance standards (e.g., OSHA, ANSI/TIA).
  • Proficiency in using tablets or mobile devices for data entry and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily floor activities, including fiber optic cable splicing, installations, and maintenance.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with safety, security, and operational procedures.
  • Collect, validate, and report splicing data and documentation for quality assurance and project tracking.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure work is performed according to specifications and standards.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for floor-level issues and escalate as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and personnel assignments.
  • Collaborate with network, and project management teams to support ongoing initiatives.
  • Train and mentor floor technicians, promoting a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
