About The Position

As a Data Center Facility Manager at Amazon Data Services, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the operations of our data centers, ensuring that our critical infrastructure systems are maintained to the highest standards. You will work with a team of front-line responders who support the operations of some of the world's most powerful data centers. Your responsibilities will include managing the physical infrastructure of the data center, ensuring high availability and performance while adhering to service level agreements. You will lead on-site teams of technicians, sub-contractors, and vendors, ensuring that all work is performed in accordance with established practices and safety protocols. In this role, you will be responsible for driving a culture of safety and security within your team, hiring, coaching, and promoting team members, and managing their career development and performance. You will also be tasked with managing the operations budget and expenditures, engaging in improvement projects, and acting as an escalation point for facilities-related issues. Your technical expertise will be essential as you oversee the operation and management of critical systems such as switchgear, generators, UPS systems, and cooling equipment. You will utilize your root cause analysis and troubleshooting skills to respond to emergencies and ensure the reliability of our data centers. The position requires a proactive approach to managing both routine and emergency services, and you may also assist in the design and build-out of new facilities. You will be part of a diverse team that values learning and evolving, and you will have the opportunity to work with the latest technology and practices in the industry. Your contributions will help maintain the high reliability and performance of our data centers, which support mission-critical servers and must maintain better than 99.999% uptime.
