About The Position

The Data Center Environmental Health & Safety Coordinator plays a crucial role in safeguarding the well-being of personnel and ensuring a safe work environment within the facility. This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive safety programs that comply with all relevant regulations and company policies.

Requirements

Associate’s degree in occupational safety and health (OSH), Environmental Science, or a related field.
Minimum of 1 - 3 years of experience in a safety-related role, preferably within a data center environment.
Demonstrated knowledge of safety regulations and standards, including OSHA standards and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) codes.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and mitigate safety hazards.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively train, guide, and collaborate with diverse teams.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and safety management software.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, prioritizing tasks effectively and meeting deadlines.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.

Nice To Haves

Depending on the specific role and company, additional certifications, such as OSHA 30, may be required or preferred.
Prior experience in electrical safety and knowledge of data center operations can be considered valuable assets.

Responsibilities

Conduct regular safety inspections to identify and assess potential hazards, recommending corrective actions to mitigate risks.
Develop and deliver safety training programs to educate staff on proper procedures, emergency protocols, and hazard recognition.
Maintain accurate records of all safety-related activities, including inspections, training sessions, and incident reports.
Investigate safety incidents, analyze root causes, and implement corrective measures to prevent future occurrences.
Stay updated on relevant safety regulations and industry best practices, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local requirements.
Collaborate with management and other departments on safety initiatives and ensure effective communication of safety protocols.
Participate in emergency preparedness planning and conduct drills to ensure the team's readiness for various emergencies.
Perform other duties as assigned to support a safe and healthy work environment.
