About The Position

As a Date Center Engineer, you will work within a key technical function, completing onsite and remote infrastructure tasks. The Data Center Operations team are responsible for the commissioning, ongoing support, maintenance and decommissioning of all physical assets across the global data center estate. You will provide onsite hardware break fix support, as well as working alongside internal and 3rd party engineers to co-ordinate equipment installation, technical troubleshooting and hardware component replacement. You will work both independently and as part of a team to deliver infrastructure deployments in the USA and other worldwide locations. Delivering to defined timeframes and installation standards are key elements of the role. This role is eligible for inclusion in the Company’s hybrid working from home policy, with travel also required to numerous data center locations across North America. There will also be a requirement for some international travel. The salary range for this position is $70,000-$80,000 annually.

Requirements

  • Experience working in large Data center environments, maintaining and deploying infrastructure assets.
  • Solid technical background working across data center and infrastructure environments.
  • Strong understanding of multi-vendor data center infrastructure such as servers, networking devices and storage.
  • Working knowledge of HPE and Dell management software such as HPE OneView and Dell Open Demonstrable experience with Windows server, Linux and VMware operating systems.
  • Experience of completing hardware component replacements and in-depth hardware troubleshooting to identify a root cause.
  • Strong problem solving skills to quickly identify, diagnose and resolve technical issues that may impact Data center operations.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and projects using excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Experience coordinating work both locally and remotely to deliver to strict timeframes.

Responsibilities

  • Deploying hardware across data centers in line with policy and standards.
  • Replacing hardware assets and components to support break fix activity and maintenance.
  • Troubleshooting technical issues with infrastructure assets, both hardware and software.
  • Coordinating third party engineers, ensuring all work is completed to company standards.
  • Validating server builds, ensuring that they conform to both Business and security standards.
  • Ensuring data center standards are maintained to documented guidelines.
  • Maintaining server and component stock levels.
  • Staying abreast of latest technologies and make recommendations for implementation.
  • Creating, maintaining and reviewing technical team documentation.
  • Identifying areas for improvement and actively working to resolve them.
