The Data Center Engineer will manage and support the data center infrastructure, focusing on hardware installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting. This role requires hands-on experience and a solid understanding of data center operations to ensure optimal performance and reliability of the systems.

  • Install and configure servers, networking equipment, and storage devices in data center racks while maintaining a clean and organized environment.
  • Set up, configure, and maintain OEM storage solutions and server hardware to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  • Perform diagnostic tests on hardware and systems to identify and resolve issues quickly, minimizing downtime.
  • Perform hardware installations, upgrades, and routine maintenance on servers, storage devices, and other equipment as needed.
  • Monitor the performance of data center equipment and infrastructure, identifying any issues that may impact uptime.
  • Work closely with other engineers, technical teams, and stakeholders to ensure data center projects are completed efficiently and in line with company objectives.
  • Maintain accurate records of all data center hardware installations, configurations, and service requests.
  • Ensure compliance with data center policies, standards, and best practices for hardware management and safety.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a data center environment, with hands-on expertise in racking and stacking servers and storage devices.
  • Familiarity with OEM storage systems and servers.
  • Experience with hardware installations, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Basic knowledge of networking concepts and server configurations.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to think critically to resolve hardware and system issues efficiently.
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical team members.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs) and work in an environment with fluctuating temperatures and noise levels.
  • Experience with enterprise-level storage systems and servers.
  • Certifications related to server hardware or data center management (e.g., CompTIA Server+, Cisco, or other OEM certifications).
  • Familiarity with data center infrastructure management (DCIM) tools and monitoring software.
