As we continue to grow, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Electrical Subject Matter Expert to join our team and drive our relationships with hyperscale clients to new heights. Electrical Subject Matter Expert: The Electrical Subject Matter Expert is the foremost technical leader on electrical systems for their site. Subject Matter Experts serve as mentors to Critical Facility Engineers (CFE) in the field and the classroom. This is a hands-on role for a seasoned professional who is eager to share their knowledge. The ideal candidate for this role is dedicated to lifelong learning, takes ownership of their work, and exemplifies integrity in all that they do. Requirements

  • 8 years of experience in an electrical role in a mission critical environment.
  • A relevant ABET-accredited bachelor's degree in engineering or engineering technology may be substituted for up to 4 years of experience.
  • Comprehensive experience performing electrical operations, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs.
  • Ability to interpret schematics and technical drawings.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical, controls, and fire suppression/alarm systems associated with mission critical environments.
  • Experience working in a highly collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.
  • Strong proficiency in the use of Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Willingness and desire to achieve all the preferred qualifications below and continue your own professional development.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment, up to 40lbs.
  • Ability to climb ladders and multiple flights of stairs to access elevated equipment
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time in various work environments
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and reach for equipment related tasks
  • Basic physical fitness to respond quickly to emergency situations and navigate areas quickly
  • Ability to move quickly and efficiently withing various work environments to troubleshoot issues or respond to emergencies.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and dexterity for working with small components and connectors
  • Clear vision, with or without correction, to perform tasks requiring attention to detail and precision while wearing safety glasses
  • Ability to differentiate between color-coded warning signs, labels, and cables
  • Ability to work in environments with a wide variety temperature inside a facility
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including extreme temperatures, rain, or snow
  • Capability to work in environments with elevated noise levels while wearing hearing protection
  • Possession of a valid driver's license for work-related travel, as required

  • ABET-accredited bachelor's degree in engineering or engineering technology
  • Master Electrician license
  • NETA Level 4 Technician Certification
  • NICET Level IV Electrical Power Testing Certification
  • Level 3 Infrared Thermography Certification
  • UPS, STS, ATS, large-frame circuit breaker, and diesel generator certifications issued by the OEM
  • Data Center Certified Associate (DCCA) or Certified Mission Critical Operator (CMCO)
  • Familiarity with NFPA standards
  • Familiarity with IEC standards
  • Familiarity with IEEE standards
  • Background in the data center industry

Responsibilities

  • Optimize the reliability and performance of the electrical systems within our data centers.
  • Enhance the team's ability to operate, maintain, and repair electrical systems.
  • Oversee the preparation, execution, and quality control for all work on electrical systems.
  • Develop and maintain operating procedures (SOP/MOP/EOP).
  • Lead the Root Cause Analysis (RCA) process for electrical system events, faults, and issues.
  • Manage the vendor relationships which provide support for our electrical systems.
  • Train CFEs on electrical system fundamentals during their initial qualification process.
  • Deliver formal classroom training on electrical systems to the Data Center Operations team.
  • Foster a collaborative team culture built on mutual respect and a shared mission to be the best data center operators in our industry.
