About The Position

Meta designs, builds, leases and operates the most innovative and efficient data centers in the world. Locating, developing and managing this data center infrastructure the "right" way is synonymous with ensuring high uptime, capacity availability, flexibility and capital and operational cost efficiency. Meta is seeking an experienced, organized and proactive Land Development Executive to join the Data Center Site Development team to manage a team of Land Development Project Managers who are responsible to help select, development and manage its rapidly scaling owned data center property portfolio across North America. This leader will have demonstrated experience thinking both strategically and analytically, diving into the details while assessing projects and issues from a global portfolio view, developing out-of-the-box solutions, and navigating the challenges that accompany large-scale data center development projects. You are results-driven, a rigorous project manager, and have managed a similar portfolio of projects, including a team of PM's directly responsible for delivery of similar work. You have experience communicating effectively, forming partnerships, influencing and driving stakeholders (both internal and external), and developing, tracking, and reporting on portfolio level metrics and status to leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Planning, Real Estate, Architecture, Engineering, or Science
  • 10+ years of site development, commercial real estate and project management experience
  • 3+ years of experience managing a team of real estate development professionals
  • Experience in managing multiple projects and coordinating with internal staff and external consultants, vendors and other stakeholders
  • Experience with real estate transactions and negotiating commercial agreements
  • Willingness to travel domestically (up to 25% a month) as project needs require

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of Development Project Managers who support the site inquiry and own diligence processes to vet prospective sites and assess site risks and opportunities by analyzing and compiling site information, including permitting and land use requirements, geographical location, legal and physical risks and financial implications
  • Manage a team of Development Project Managers who take lead role in organizing communications by creating scalable processes and tracking progress towards on-time delivery of projects by key internal and external stakeholders in support of the site selection effort, including capacity planning, data center design and construction, energy, external consulting partners, network engineering, legal, tax, policy and finance
  • Manage a team of Development Project Managers who manage the entitlements process (e.g., zoning, land use permitting) to ensure accurate and timely submission and execution of the necessary site entitlements and permits to meet project timelines
  • Manage a team of Development Project Managers who support a portfolio of purchased sites, sites under construction or in operations to facilitate on-time and quality delivery and development of the site that meets permit and agreement requirements and local expectations
  • Manage a team of Development Project Managers who track and monitor ongoing site development including agreement management (e.g., agreement compliance, offsite infrastructure tracking)
  • Manage a team of Development Project Managers who lead updates to entitlements process (e.g., zoning, land use permitting, agreement modifications) and real estate transactions to support continued site development
  • Manage a team of Development Project Managers who work with key project team members to ensure alignment among all internal stakeholders and to find creative ways to overcome obstacles throughout the site development process
  • Manage a team of Development Project Managers who maintain and own company's relationships with key external stakeholders such as planning and permitting experts supporting the project, the community, and authorities having jurisdiction
  • Manage a team of Development Project Managers who support the preparation of project recommendations for presentation to management for approval
  • Develop scalable, efficient tools and processes to improve delivery and communication for data center site development
