Job Summary Data Center Technician position at our downtown Seattle location.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience as a data center technician
  • Ability to install fiber trays, fiber ladders, rack and stack customer equipment
  • High School Diploma
  • Able to perform all essential job functions, including walking, standing, bending, stooping, climbing, lifting and manual dexterity, with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Able to lift heavy equipment/items up to 50 pounds
  • Able to work days/nights/weekends/holidays, if needed and/or required

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using BERT and SONET test equipment a plus

Responsibilities

  • Installations Racks and stacks customer equipment
  • Reads installation plans (Visio Drawings / Spreadsheets) and implements installation accordingly
  • Queue Management Determines work priorities from the Oracle queue and ensures adherence to all commit times
  • Testing/Troubleshooting Troubleshoots switched / multiplexed / media converted circuits; escalates to, and works with networking group, as needed
  • Cross Connects Installs/tests/modifies cross connects per SOPs and ensures proper cable management of: coax, fiber, twisted pair copper, and intra-building cross connects
  • Installs and tests advanced cross connects circuits (switched, multiplexed, etc.)
  • Documentation/Reporting Maintains detailed written records of all work activity
  • Projects Leads advanced installations; provides input and identifies problems with drawings, and assists with verification of custom projects
  • Training May deliver training to others on operations procedures and basic safety
  • Identifies site specific safety issues and integrates into training
  • Customer Management Supports customer satisfaction through timely and precise order execution and quality assurance checks
