About The Position

As a Data Center - Critical Infrastructure Technician, you will be integral to ensuring the seamless operation of Fiserv's data center infrastructure. Your role will focus on maintaining high availability and performance of our data centers, which are crucial for supporting our clients' operations. You will collaborate with a team of skilled professionals dedicated to innovation and operational excellence, contributing to the reliability and efficiency of our systems.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in data center operations.
  • 3+ year(s) of experience in network cabling and hardware installation.
  • 1+ year(s) of experience in data center monitoring tools.
  • 1+ year(s) of experience in troubleshooting data center issues.
  • 3+ years of an equivalent combination of educational background, related experience, and/or military experience.
  • To be considered, you must be either a US Permanent Resident or US Citizen due to contractual obligations.
  • This role requires use of a computer and audio equipment.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds and climb ladders while working at heights of 6 to 12 feet and stand on your feet for the majority of your shift.
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed to support 24/7 data center operations.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with data center cooling and power distribution systems.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V.
  • Experience with DCIM tools.
  • Experience with network infrastructure and protocols.
  • Experience in implementing and maintaining security protocols in data centers.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor critical Data Center systems by using the automated Building Management System (BMS).
  • Visual inspections and readings of equipment and systems.
  • Respond to alarms on critical systems throughout the facility and trouble shoot and take necessary actions to maintain critical Data Center systems.
  • Contact appropriate vendor and/or contractors to respond.
  • Perform testing on equipment and systems and complete tasks as part of a preventive maintenance schedule.
  • Maintain safe work environments and the actions of cleaning contractors.
  • Clean all critical equipment as needed or as part of preventive maintenance and support maintenance tasks performed by vendors.
