About The Position

The position involves managing the Data Center and related mechanical devices, including the design and deployment of hardware and cabling within the Data Center. The role requires documentation of network and data center processes and performing related tasks. Additionally, the position assists in the design and engineering of the data center and future initiatives, while also mentoring junior team members to enhance their effectiveness and skillset.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for operation and maintenance of the Data Center, including all day to day activities
• Assists with data center design and architecture
• Writes documentation and SOP for Data Center Operations
• Brings forward opportunities for improvement and architecture changes
• Performs installation of network and systems equipment (rack, stack and cabling)
• Monitors facilities for power, cooling and other capacity needs
• Tests and turns up circuits including data, voice, and specialty circuits
• Performs basic system administration tasks under direction from Network and Systems Administrators
• Available on a 24 hour basis for emergency support when required
• Troubleshoots and verifies existing network equipment and systems infrastructure
• Provides feedback on and refinement of data center operational processes
• Establishes specifications by conferring with users; analyzing workflow, access, information, and security requirements
• Evaluates performance and issues including availability and utilization; plans and executes the selection, installation, configuration, and testing of equipment
• Maintains Data Center performance by performing monitoring and analysis, and performance tuning
• Manages and configures Network Disaster Recovery including procedural documentation
• Upgrades network by conferring with vendors; developing, testing, evaluating, and installing enhancements
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and maintaining personal networks
• Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential
• Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests
