About The Position

The Data Automation Manager is responsible for leading the implementation and maintenance of automated systems for data processing and analysis, as well as developing, implementing, and maintaining interactive dashboards and data visualization tools to support data-driven decision-making throughout the organization. This role also involves overseeing a team of analysts who create dashboards for various departments, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and alignment with business objectives. The ideal candidate is a strategic and detail-oriented professional with strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and in-depth expertise in data visualization and technical project management. This role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams and external vendors to ensure seamless project execution and customer-centric solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Business Analytics, Engineering, or a related field
  • 7+ years of relevant professional work experience
  • Strong hands on experience using Microsoft SQL Server and ETL processes (KNIME Analytics Platform)
  • 5+ years of proven expertise with Tableau, Power BI, and/or other dashboarding tools
  • Data modeling, and database management systems experience
  • Proficiency in programming languages like SQL and scripting languages (e.g., Shell, PowerShell)
  • Knowledge of server and dashboard administration, including managing user roles, permissions, and monitoring performance to ensure secure and seamless access for stakeholders
  • Ability to take ownership of projects and independently drive them from concept to completion, delivering high-quality results on time in a remote setting
  • Strong understanding of data visualization principles
  • High-level competency in Excel (macros, pivot tables, etc.)
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills to work effectively with diverse teams to communicate complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. Continental is able to offer visa support for internal candidates or for those individuals who hold existing valid employment visas
  • Relocation can be offered if needed

Nice To Haves

  • Professionally certified in Tableau, or other dashboard tools
  • 10+ years of relevant professional work experience
  • Professional certificate in KNIME Analytics Platform or other ETL tools
  • Understanding of data governance and data security best practices
  • Prefer RPA certification and/or working knowledge
  • Experience with cloud-based data platforms (AWS Redshift, Google Cloud, Azure)
  • Master's degree in a relevant discipline

Responsibilities

  • Interact with key stakeholders to lead the architect, design, development, and maintenance of Data automation that streamlines data collection from internal and external systems, cleansing, and transfer across various platforms to support business objectives.
  • Design, develop, and maintain automated data pipelines, ETL processes, and data integration solutions.
  • Manage multiple new and ongoing technical projects that may include special sales-related initiatives.
  • Ensure the security and proper configuration of system applications and complex data sets across the organization to provide recommendations for RPA, connectivity efficiency, and overall streamlined processes.
  • Track and communicate project status, timelines, risks, and key deliverables to executive stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders and customers to understand their data visualization needs and business requirements and translate them into effective, insightful visualizations and reports, connecting dashboards to various data sources while ensuring accuracy and performance.
  • Cleanse and prepare data for analysis and reporting to ensure accuracy and relevance.
  • Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimize automated workflows for efficiency and scalability, and optimize dashboards for performance, including load times and responsiveness.
  • Ensure adoption and understanding of dashboards through end-user training, support, and best practice implementation.
  • Provide ongoing support to resolve user issues and questions, along with technical roadblocks.
  • Manage workbook publishing and data refresh schedules, ensuring that data is updated and relevant for stakeholders.
  • Act as a liaison between customers, vendors, and other key stakeholders, ensuring successful project alignment and implementation.
  • Foster a culture of data literacy and continuous learning by sharing best practices and providing ongoing training to the broader team.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies in AI, machine learning, analytics, and automation to improve business outcomes continuously.
