About The Position

OSC EdgeTech, LLC is seeking a talented Data Architect to join the team. OSC EdgeTech is a wholly owned subsidiary of Cook Inlet Region, Inc. (CIRI), an Alaska Native Corporation proudly owned by over 9,400 Shareholders. Position Overview The Data Architect will lead the development of the organization's overall data strategy, designs the enterprise data architecture, set data standards and policies, and ensures data quality and security. The Architect will execute service delivery under Technical Architecture, Enterprise Engineering Services, and Platform Services areas. The Architect will provide technical expertise and leadership as an escalation point for all personnel performing architecture and engineering tasks under the program. The Architect will provide expert level advice to the Government stakeholders with regards to architecture options, best practices, and methodologies to integrate solutions and solve problems.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of Data/Enterprise Architecture best practices and standards.
  • Effective written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to support tasks and issues through to completion, strong follow-through, and critical problem-solving skills.
  • In-depth understanding of Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DODAF) Definitions and Guidelines
  • Bachelor’s degree (degree in Computer Science/Management preferred) or 10 or more years' related work experience.
  • Five or more years’ experience as a Data architect and / or senior data designer architecting DoD IT solutions.
  • Experience in the analysis and design of integrating government systems.
  • Active Secret or Higher Clearance.
  • Valid SEC+ Certification.

Responsibilities

  • Define the enterprise data strategy, governance and platform vision. Align data initiatives with the organizations’ business objectives and long-range goals.
  • Ensure alignment of Program Team’s plans, deliverables and technology support services to the Government’s enterprise architecture.
  • Research and advise the Government on emerging technologies and their feasibility for improving service delivery or IT capabilities to support customers.
  • Oversee the design and development of complex data architectures. Drive the build-out of modern data ecosystems, such as data lakes, data meshes and data warehouses, in a cloud-native, hybrid or on-prem environment.
  • Validate and synchronize architecture plans with other architecture teams.
  • Provide expert engineering for enterprise changes addressing emerging mission needs.
  • Establish enterprise-wide policies and standards for data modeling, quality, security and usage. Manage metadata practices to ensure data discoverability and lineage.
  • Develop Engineering and Implementation Plans (EIPs). Evaluate and assess EIPs on new and emerging technologies, then present innovative solutions to leadership.
  • Plan, lead and/or support technology pilots to validate proposed designs; provide surge deployment capabilities when a design is accepted for rapid deployment.
  • Design solutions to integrate data from various internal and external sources. Ensure data from different systems can be combined effectively to provide a cohesive, unified view.
  • Assist in developing a Development Operations (DevOps) process combining software development and IT operations into existing Technical Design processes.
  • Implement Government-approved components into the DevOps process; and build and deploy automation to take advantage of DevOps integration.
  • Provide expert guidance and mentorship to data architecture, data engineering, and analytics teams. Drive the adoption of architectural best practices.
