About The Position

Associate –Data Analyst / Data Scientist Mortgage Financing & Structuring The Residential Mortgage Finance Team sits within the Fixed Income Division and is responsible for providing structured financing solutions secured by U.S. residential mortgage collateral. The team works closely with originators, aggregators, servicers, and institutional investors to design, price, and execute complex financing facilities and securitization transactions. We are seeking an Analyst or Associate level Data Analyst / Data Scientist with a strong technical background and a clear interest in learning RMBS structuring and structured finance. This role is designed as a technical entry point into the structuring function, offering direct exposure to transaction mechanics, collateral analysis, and deal execution, with a long-term pathway into a full structuring or banking role. This is a hands-on, analytical position intended for Data professional who is comfortable owning complex datasets, building scalable analytics, and partnering closely with structurers and bankers on live transactions. Role & Responsibilities Working alongside RMBS structurers and financing bankers, leading the analytical and data-driven aspects of the business, including:

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Python for data analysis, modeling, and automation
  • Experience with SQL and database design (relational and/or NoSQL)
  • Experience working with large, complex datasets in a production environment
  • Familiarity with analytics and visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or equivalent
  • Solid understanding of data modeling, analytics engineering, and data architecture concepts
  • 1–5 years of professional experience in data analytics, data science, analytics engineering, or a closely related technical role
  • Demonstrated ability to translate raw data into actionable insights for business stakeholders
  • Intellectual curiosity and a strong desire to learn structured finance, RMBS, and transaction structuring
  • A programmer first, with finance as the domain to be mastered
  • Comfortable operating in a deal-driven, fast-paced environment
  • Detail-oriented, analytical, and capable of managing multiple concurrent initiatives

Nice To Haves

  • Prior exposure to financial services, capital markets, risk analytics, pricing analytics, or structured products preferred
  • Motivated by depth of understanding and long-term growth into a structuring or banking role

Responsibilities

  • Designing and maintaining databases for large-scale residential mortgage loan-level data, collateral tapes, and performance history
  • Building pricing, cash-flow, and risk analytics to support financing facilities, securitizations, and portfolio monitoring
  • Supporting transaction structuring, including collateral stratification, scenario analysis, and stress testing
  • Developing automated reporting and risk dashboards for internal stakeholders and senior management
  • Implementing process automation to improve efficiency across data ingestion, validation, modeling, and reporting workflows
  • Partnering cross-functionally with structurers, traders, risk, operations, and technology teams to enable data-driven decision making
  • Contributing to the continuous evolution of the team’s analytical infrastructure, tools, and methodologies
