About The Position

AttainX Inc is seeking a highly experienced Data and Cloud Architect to design, implement, and govern our enterprise data and cloud architecture on AWS. In this senior-level role, you will serve as a strategic technical leader, bridging the gap between business objectives and scalable cloud-native data solutions. You will be responsible for the full lifecycle of data architecture — from database design and administration to cloud migration, data pipelines, and platform optimization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
  • Senior-Level: 8+ years of overall IT experience, with a strong foundation in infrastructure, software development, or systems architecture. 5+ years of hands-on experience in data engineering and database administration (DBA), including relational and non-relational databases.
  • ProvenexpertisewithAWS cloud services, including but not limited to: Redshift, RDS/Aurora, S3, Glue, Lambda, DMS, Kinesis, Lake Formation, and IAM.
  • Strongproficiencyin SQL and experience with database platforms such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, or SQL Server.
  • Experience designing and implementingdata lakes, data warehouses, andlakehousearchitectures.
  • Solid understanding ofETL/ELT pipeline developmentusing tools such as AWS Glue, Apache Spark,dbt, or similar.
  • Strong knowledge of data security, encryption, access management, and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting USDA, FPAC, NRCS, or other federal civilian agencies.
  • AWS Certified Developer or Data Engineer
  • Experience with data catalog and metadata management tools (e.g., AWS Glue Data Catalog, Apache Atlas).
  • Knowledge of real-time and event-driven data architectures using Apache Kafka or AWS Kinesis.
  • Exposure to machine learning pipelines and integration with AWS SageMaker or similar platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Define and enforce enterprise data architecture standards, governance frameworks, and best practices across the organization.
  • Lead data engineering initiatives including the design and optimization of ETL/ELT pipelines, data lakes, data warehouses, and real-time streaming solutions.
  • Serve as a senior DBA resource, providingexpertisein database performance tuning, indexing strategies, query optimization, backup/recovery, and high availability configurations.
  • Collaborate with engineering, DevOps, and business intelligence teams to align data infrastructure with organizational goals.
  • Drive cloud migration strategies, transitioning on-premises data workloads to AWS cloud environments with minimal disruption.
  • Establish andmaintaindata security, compliance, and access control policies in alignment with industry standards (e.g., SOC 2, HIPAA, FedRAMP where applicable).
  • Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies, tools, and frameworks to continuously improve the data ecosystem.
  • Mentor andprovidetechnical guidance to junior data engineers and database administrators.
  • Partner with stakeholders to translate complex business requirements into robust technical solutions.
