About The Position

CareFirst is undertaking a digital transformation which requires enterprise agility paired with the retooling of our technology stack to enable speed to value and expand our reach. CareFirst is seeking a highly skilled Data and Analytics Scrum Master to join our dynamic organization dedicated to delivering innovative Data and Analytics products for key stakeholders. In this role, you will lead a cross functional team, guiding them on how to use Agile, Scrum and Lean values/practices through servant leadership. You will create and nurture a culture of continuous learning, growth mindset and agile maturity in teams through agile practices, agile mindset, metrics, removal of blockers and establishing partnerships with leadership. This position plays a crucial role in supporting Data and Analytics as it transitions to Agile at Scale, requiring a collaborative and growth-oriented mindset to effectively manage risks, dependencies, and outcomes. Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree OR in lieu of a Bachelor's degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required in addition to the required work experience.
• 5 years in the use of Agile/Scrum/Lean/SAFe practices and methodology in delivering business/customer value; or in equivalent methodology in IT delivery.

Nice To Haves

• Experience as a Scrum Master or Kanban practitioner in prior role.
• Experience being part of a SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) Agile Release Train.
• Experience using Jira and Jira Align.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates the teams progress toward team goals.
• Acts as the team facilitator and continuously engages in challenging the old ways of working to improve team level performance in the areas of quality, predictability, flow, velocity and other metrics defined by the enterprise.
• Helps the team focus on daily and Iteration goals in the context of the current Program Increment (PI) or Release Objectives.
• Leads team efforts in relentless improvement, helps the team improve and take responsibility for their actions; facilitates the team retrospective.
• Teaches problem-solving techniques and helps the team become better problem-solvers for themselves.
• Facilitates team meetings such as Daily Stand-up, Iteration Planning, Iteration Review, Iteration Retrospective etc.
• Ensures the DoD (Definition of Done) and other team level working agreements are being followed.
• Facilitates discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution within the team to improve team level performance and value delivery.
• Eliminates impediments by engaging the right stakeholders within the organization or partner organizations.
• Assists with internal and external communication and improves transparency.
• Supports the teams efforts to continuously improve communications and relationships with other teams.
• Takes a lead role in coordinating work with other teams to improve flow and throughput.
• Frequently represents the team in the Scrum of Scrums (SoS), or other ceremonies to plan and execute the work.
• Helps the team remain aware of opportunities to engage and improve larger program effectiveness.
• Helps the team build effective relationships with the supporting teams like User Experience, Architecture, Shared Services etc.
• Supports the Product Owner in their efforts to manage the backlog and guide the team while facilitating a healthy team dynamic with respect to priorities and scope.
• Exhibits the behaviors of a Lean-Agile Leader to nurture a Lean-Agile Mindset in the team, leadership and the program.
• Provides input and participates in initiatives to improve business agility in the team/program/enterprise.
• Identifies and supports the culture change required to improve agility.
