The St Luke’s Health Plan is the only fully integrated system in Idaho with doctors and insurance working together to achieve healthy outcomes. What could be more rewarding than that? St. Luke’s Data and Analytics Department (D&A) is seeking to hire a Data and Analytics Lead to support St Luke’s Health Partners Analytics, Business Intelligence and Data Management needs. As a D&A lead, you will be integral in developing and helping others develop innovative analytical solutions for business-critical decisions to support St Luke’s Health Plan’s critical business functions. The ideal candidate for this position would understand the health insurance business, have Epic knowledge and skills, have great communication skills, be a curious self-starter, have great analytical and problem-solving skills, and have a passion for delivering analytical solutions that enable time-sensitive, critical decisions. Previous technical or personnel leadership is a plus but not required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or 4 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree
  • Minimum of 4 years related experience
  • Health Care experience with an understanding of health insurance and value-based care
  • Strong SQL experience, writing queries and stored procedures
  • Experience with BI tools like PowerBI or Tableau
  • Experience with database management systems
  • Experience with Epic Tapestry and Population Health module; other Epic experience is a plus
  • Experience in developing and communicating data analytical solutions and concepts
  • Exposure to data warehousing methodologies

Responsibilities

  • Develop and enable team to develop a strong partnership with the business.
  • Develop a deeper understanding of the health insurance business functions, claims data, other data and analytical needs.
  • Co-develop recommendations, understand needs and lead group to deliver on requests.
  • Partner with business analysts to ensure they have the data and capabilities to self-serve.
  • Lead your small group to cover a broad range of Data and Analytics functions (data engineering, business intelligence development, business intelligence analysis.)
  • Mentor staff to develop skills and execute on assignments.
  • Ensure the team has clear requirements and the solutions are tested and validated.
  • Provide regular status reports and plans to Health Plan and D&A leaders.
  • Responsible for performance appraisals for positions under their direction; provides leadership guidance, counseling, and continuing education to staff.
  • Align with D&A best practices within other groups.
  • Work with architects to implement solutions in alignment with standards.
  • Participate in developing and improving standards and best practices across D&A
  • Build cross functional relationships with data analytic teams and business leaders to understand information needs, data flows, and data quality
  • Gather requirements, develop and test data and analytical solutions for the Health Plan.
  • Be available to support solutions as required by the business need.
