About The Position

Data & Analytics is seeking an Executive Director to lead data strategy and operations for the Firm’s Integrated Client Intelligence (ICI) initiative—a cross-divisional effort to deliver a robust, automated, and governed client data and analytics platform. This role is pivotal in scaling MSIM’s data capabilities, driving harmonization across business units, and ensuring high-quality data flows into and out of the ICI ecosystem. The successful candidate will be a strategic partner to senior stakeholders, responsible for shaping MSIM’s data within the broader Firmwide client intelligence framework. This includes stewarding client entity harmonization, enabling proactive prospecting, and supporting commercial outcomes through a unified view of client relationships.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in data strategy, governance, or analytics, preferably within asset management or financial services.
  • At least 5 years in a senior data leadership role with cross-functional influence.
  • Strategic thinker and proven partner to senior leaders in the organization
  • Proven ability to manage complex data programs and deliver measurable business value.
  • Strong understanding of client data, entity hierarchies, and CRM systems; experience with Salesforce and data visualization tools is a plus.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with a pragmatic approach to problem-solving.
  • Experience in designing and developing data control frameworks

Responsibilities

  • Lead MSIM’s data integration into ICI, including revenue, AUM, and key contact datasets for Investment Management clients.
  • Own and oversee all MSIM-related data contributions to ICI, ensuring alignment with Firmwide standards and governance.
  • Represent MSIM Data in cross-divisional forums, driving alignment on strategy, prioritization, and execution.
  • Partner with Integrated Client, Client Experience, Technology, and other MSIM functions to assess data needs and enable seamless ingestion and consumption of ICI data.
  • Support operational readiness and ongoing delivery of MSIM data feeds, including automation of manual processes and enrichment of client hierarchies.
  • Define and enforce ownership models for MSIM datasets within ICI, including escalation paths.
  • Develop and monitor data quality metrics, proactively identifying and remediating structural issues.
  • Establish and maintain transmission protocols to ensure secure, accurate, and timely delivery of MSIM data to ICI.
  • Contribute to Firmwide governance efforts, including entitlement modeling and control frameworks for sensitive client data.
  • Champion automation and tooling enhancements to reduce manual effort and improve data reliability.
  • Partner with MSIM Data Owners, Contributors and Stakeholders on strategic initiatives to improve MSIM’s data architecture, including revenue allocation, entity resolution, and contact mapping.
  • Collaborate with technology partners to scope and deliver enhancements aligned with ICI’s roadmap and MSIM’s business needs.
  • Enable MSIM stakeholders to derive insights from ICI data through dashboards, reporting tools, and analytical frameworks.
  • Support development of client one-pagers and lifecycle views that integrate MSIM data with Firmwide intelligence.
