About The Position

The Data Analytics Technician internship at Whiting-Turner Contracting Company involves providing technical support for Business Intelligence (BI) and Analytics solutions. The role focuses on troubleshooting, testing, design, analysis, and the creation of analytical tools and reports. The technician will bridge the gap between end-users and the analytics team, ensuring effective communication and support for data integrity and normalization initiatives.

Requirements

• BS in Computer Science, Data Science, Computer Information Systems, or other related major
• Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of relational databases like SQL, Oracle
• Knowledge of reporting tools like Tableau, PowerBI
• Basic understanding of ETL/ELT processes
• Experienced in MS O365, specifically Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Ability to effectively multi-task
• Focus on quality and attention to detail
• Excellent customer service skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to review, test and document programming fixes and enhancements

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and resolve employee inquiries via email and phone
• Provide insight and training to end-users regarding our analytical tools
• Analyze, solution, and create custom reporting and analytics requests from various stakeholders
• Analyze and assist with implementing new enhancements and functionality to our analytical services
• Work with vendors to troubleshoot issues and enhancements
• Communicate updates, changes, and issues internally within our analytics group
• Learn and become knowledgeable on various data sources and databases
• Learn and become knowledgeable on our analytical tools and platforms
• Learn and understand Whiting-Turner business processes
• Supporting initiatives for data integrity and normalization
• Other duties as assigned
