About The Position
Data Analytics Summer Internship Overview: Surge Staffing is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Data Analytics Intern to join our team. This internship provides hands-on experience working with real business data to support strategic decision-making across departments. The ideal candidate is curious, motivated, and eager to apply analytical skills in a fast-paced professional environment. This is a full-time (Monday - Friday) On-Site position that is for Surge Staffing HQ located in Columbus, Ohio. Requirements
- Currently pursuing a degree in Data Analytics or Business Analytics
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills (including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis functions)
- Some familiarity with Power BI and/or Microsoft SQL Server
- Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail
- Ability to communicate findings clearly and effectively

Responsibilities
- Collect, clean, and validate datasets from multiple sources
- Assist in analyzing trends, patterns, and key performance indicators
- Develop dashboards and recurring reports to support operational and leadership teams
- Create data visualizations using tools such as Excel, Power BI, or similar platforms
- Support ad hoc reporting requests and ongoing analytics projects
- Assist with querying databases using Microsoft SQL Server
- Document data processes and contribute to data accuracy and quality initiatives
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify insights and recommend improvements
