About The Position
Join American Express as a Data Analytics Intern, where you'll support key data initiatives to deliver insights on platform resource utilization, operational performance, and cost optimization. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience with enterprise-level data analytics while collaborating with teams across business units, product and technology. Our 10-week Summer Internship Program runs from June to August. This program will provide you with real, on-the-job work experience; giving you the skills and experience to help you accelerate in your studies and future career!
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree candidates with an expected graduation date between December 2026 and June 2027
- Currently enrolled in full-time Bachelor's degree program

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Interest in modern data platforms, business intelligence, and process improvement.
- Familiarity with data tools (e.g. Excel, SQL, Python, Tableau, Power BI) is a plus
- Ability to collaborate with and build strong relationships with leaders, colleagues in different time zones, and cross-functional partners to deliver value.
- Strong project management skills, communication skills, and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to present ideas clearly and concisely.

- Comfort with challenging the status quo and driving continuous process improvement
Responsibilities
- Assist in analyzing data to uncover trends and opportunities for improving platform usage, performance, and efficiency.
- Collaborate with technology and product teams to help shape analytics solutions that enhance colleague and customer experiences.
- Support the development of strategies to streamline and modernize business intelligence (BI) capabilities and data workflows.
- Contribute to modernization efforts of data platforms by gathering requirements, identifying gaps, and helping document future-state architecture plans.
- Partner with stakeholders to understand their data needs and help deliver actionable insights through reports, dashboards, or presentations.
- Prepare and deliver communications and presentations for varied audiences, including internal stakeholders and leadership.
