This individual will be responsible for providing data engineering and analytics solutions for biologics manufacturing suites. This individual will maintain, configure, administer, and troubleshoot the AVEVA PI System, SIMCA, and other system interfaces supporting the data historization and analytics for the Devens Biologics suites.

Requirements

  • 2+ years experience with AVEVA PI Historian.
  • Working experience with Microsoft Windows Server in a domain setting, technical knowledge of network configuration, and competency with navigating complex virtualized computing environments.
  • Working experience administering relational databases with RDBMS tools such as Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio. Basic to intermediate competency with SQL.
  • Track record of delivering on small, well-scoped technical projects and tasks. Ability to manage small projects with minimal guidance.
  • Familiarity with common manufacturing systems such as DCS, MES, and CMMS.
  • Experience with data flows and interfaces associated with bench-top instrumentation, and system integration protocols a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills including oral, written, and formal presentations. Ability to clearly communicate technical information to a variety of audiences.
  • Exercise sound judgment in making decisions and recommendations within generally defined practices and policies and notify senior management when necessary.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or its equivalent.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science or the Life Sciences and minimum of four (4) years experience providing information systems solutions.

Nice To Haves

  • At least one year experience working on the floor in a manufacturing process environment required, preferably in chemical or biotechnology.
  • Experience with Validation Lifecycle Management Systems ( Valgenesis , or similar).
  • Experience with Distributed Control Systems and Historians.

Responsibilities

  • Provide input to all design decisions regarding integration into Data Analytics systems.
  • Interface with the Digital Plant Automation Control Systems Software team and the user groups to develop requirements and designs to meet the business needs.
  • Ensure technical delivery of any updates to the Data Analytics systems as endorsed by leadership team to meet business objectives.
  • Promote the use of data analytics to support achievement of site business goals. This includes promoting awareness and training on data analytics tools and techniques across site.
  • Hands on development and implementation of analytics tools based on complex user requirements across multiple platforms and functional areas with limited guidance.
  • Perform troubleshooting utilizing critical thinking skills and techniques such as root cause analysis to resolve incidents in a timely fashion with minimal guidance.
  • Responsible for the execution and creation, review, and approval of documentation associated with procedure-driven compliance activities such as periodic reviews and on-site application recovery (OAR).
  • Initiate continuous improvement tasks to improve operational robustness and efficiency.
  • Work in collaboration with Validation, Quality and Manufacturing Engineering and Manufacturing operations to keep the operations on site functional.
  • Support key business processes such as audit, investigation and CAPA.
