Valvoline Global Operations Headquarters is located in Lexington, KY. We prefer candidates willing to work an in-office work schedule (4x per week). What our internship provides: Paid on-site summer internship (up to 12 weeks) How You’ll Make An Impact The Data Analytics and IT Security intern will focus on executing a project to establish security roles, access controls, and processes for Analytics reports in preparation for the North America ERP go-live. The work will involve close collaboration with the Security, IT Administration, and Data Engineering teams to define access levels, document approval and provisioning workflows, and create a scalable, repeatable framework for managing report access in the future.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field
  • Experience or coursework in Data Analytics, Information Systems, or Computer Science
  • Familiarity with data governance, security roles, or user access management concepts
  • Understanding of data structures, databases, and permissions frameworks
  • Experience documenting processes or workflows in a structured, repeatable format
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work across teams
  • Demonstrated accountability and follow-through on assigned tasks
  • Adaptability in a dynamic, project-driven environment

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Security, IT Administration, and Data Engineering teams to define and document access requirements for Analytics reports.
  • Assist in developing and implementing security roles and permissions to ensure proper data access and compliance.
  • Support the creation and documentation of approval and provisioning processes for report access.
  • Contribute to establishing a repeatable and scalable framework for ongoing management of report access.
  • Participate in testing and validation of security configurations prior to the release of Analytics reports.
  • Maintain clear and organized documentation of roles, access levels, and process workflows.
  • Provide status updates and communicate progress or issues to project stakeholders regularly.
