About The Position

Join us in our support to the US Space Force (HQ USSF) COMSATCOM Office. Our team provides high quality, comprehensive and diversified expert support services to deliver and integrate a transformative COMSATCOM business model into an overarching SATCOM enterprise environment. We are seeking a Data Analyst to provide guidance and subject matter expertise to COMSATCOM customers.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of data analytics, operations research, economics, engineering, mathematics, and/or statistics.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office software.
  • Excellent verbal and written executive level communication.
  • Deadline driven, fast paced, organized and detail oriented.
  • Possess excellent organizational skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelors Degree
  • Experience supporting USG/USSF/DoW space programs, particularly performing data analysis.
  • Familiarity with USG/DoW acquisition processes and analytic rigor standards.
  • Knowledge and experience in Python, PowerBI.
  • Ability to support on-site client meetings within the National Capital Region
  • Team player with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with business models, billing processes, and existing data analysis tools.

Responsibilities

  • Collect COMSATCOM usage data and inventory of capabilities (e.g., transponder capacity, frequencies, etc., including Government Furnished Information (GFI) and non-GFI sources.
  • Analyze COMSATCOM usage to develop usage trends, forecasts, and produce reports.
  • Maintain awareness on global, regional, and situational trends to identify potential COMSATCOM usage needs.
  • Create easy-to-read and visually appealing reports to provide updates to United States Space Force (USSF) CSCO leadership and quickly respond to external data calls.
  • Develop DoD COMSATCOM forecasts of potential usage demand.
  • Pull data from various systems in a multitude of formats.
  • Develop metrics and reports and present findings to senior-level stakeholders.
  • Apply basic descriptive statistical tools to data sets to ensure stakeholders understand data quality and statistical significance for decision-making.
  • Support analytic studies by COMSATCOM Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) including cost, courses of action comparisons, business case analyses, market research, and commercial capability assessments.
  • Support analysis required for acquisition milestones, leadership reviews, and Congressional or Office of the Secretary of War (OSW) -level inquiries.
  • Collaborate with USSF program offices, operators, engineers, financial managers, and commercial providers.
  • Perform data entry into variety of database formats (e.g., SharePoint, Excel, and others).
  • Respond to ad hoc analytic taskings from senior leadership with speed, accuracy, and traceability.
