We are looking for a creative, self-motivated, flexible thinker to join our team. Working with Applecart’s data analysts and strategists, you will contribute to polling and predictive modeling efforts, targeting, and analytics on behalf of some of the country’s most prominent non-profits, political and digital campaigns, trade associations, and corporations. Your day-to-day work will revolve around both our internal and client-facing products built on custom survey research and audience data, as well as ad-hoc tasks to support our teams.

  • Work quickly and fluently in Python and SQL to ingest, analyze, and transform internal datasets for use with data pipelines and client-facing deliverables
  • Assist with long-term research and development on PySpark-based data pipelines, custom survey research methodologies, and related deliverables
  • Work closely with the campaign and survey research team to create samples, process data, conduct survey analyses, and build custom predictive models using survey results and other data sources
  • Build, maintain, and extend the functionality of internal Tableau dashboards through intuitive and easy-to-read visualizations, charts, and tables
  • Troubleshoot and solve problems for the Client Services and Audience Operations teams involving the processing, reporting, and delivery of audience data
  • Fulfill ad-hoc requests for projects, solving problems for teams involving data transformation, cleaning, and effective communication between project stakeholders
  • 1-3 years of work experience in a data analytics-focused role for a company, analytics or consulting firm, political committee, or in an academic setting
  • Expertise in Python or a similar object-oriented language, including the ability to architect scalable systems, design reusable components, and implement OOP solutions from high-level requirements
  • Experience with data-manipulation tools (Pandas, dplyr, PySpark) to convert raw data into validated, analysis-ready datasets — including data cleaning, joining, aggregating, visualizing, and performance optimization
  • Ability to use version control systems to maintain clear, organized code repositories
  • Experience collaborating with team members to produce clear, efficient code and making improvements on scripts originally written by others
  • Capability to manage multiple tight timelines while being adaptive to cross-functional responsibilities and requests
  • Ability to collaborate proactively with team members and be highly motivated in managing project work
  • Experience using SQL to query and manipulate databases
  • Experience working in Tableau to produce intuitive, client-facing data reports and visualizations
  • Experience working with statistical libraries like scikit-learn or PySpark ML to build predictive risk models, and high-level knowledge of best practices for constructing such models
  • Experience using Databricks or a similar cloud-based platforms for data analytics
  • Experience working with market research or political polling data
  • College- or graduate-level coursework in statistics, data analysis, mathematics or computer science
  • Our compensation package consists of three components: (i) a base salary, (ii) annual cash bonus, and (iii) generous equity compensation.
