About The Position

Roc Nation is seeking a Data Analyst to join their growing Data Science & Analytics team. This role is at the intersection of data, music, marketing, and business operations, requiring technical proficiency in data modeling, querying, and reporting. The incumbent will partner with stakeholders to bridge the gap between data, decisions, and operational processes, working across all business verticals including Music, Distribution, Sports, Brands, and Philanthropy to deliver impactful insights. Roc Nation, established in 2008, is a leading global entertainment organization headquartered in New York with offices in Los Angeles, London, and Brazil. It provides a comprehensive range of services to clients, including artist management, music publishing, international distribution, touring, production, and strategic brand development. Roc Nation represents celebrated recording artists, producers, songwriters, and athletes, and has partnered with the NFL as its live music entertainment strategist, producing award-winning Super Bowl Halftime shows. Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience as a data analyst developing data models and building data products and self-service analytics dashboards with modern business intelligence tools (Looker, Tableau, Power BI, etc.) that drive decision making and outcomes
  • Experience working with and developing cloud data warehouses (Big Query, Snowflake, Redshift, etc.)
  • A highly analytical and systems-level mindset focused on using data to drive decisions and business outcomes
  • Ability to clearly articulate insights to a non-technical audience
  • Comfortable partnering with engineering to define business requirements for dataset and metric development
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Powerpoint, etc.)
  • Familiarity with core music industry domains (marketing, distribution, artist and label services, brand partnerships)

  • Experience with python, dbt, and analytics engineering concepts
  • Direct music industry experience

Responsibilities

  • Deliver regular reporting to stakeholders on music streaming performance and social engagement for our roster of clients.
  • Support the digital marketing and brand partnerships teams with ad-roc analysis and reporting
  • Address incoming requests for analysis and reporting that supports decision making across digital marketing, brand partnerships, and distribution
  • Build, maintain, and improve data products and self-service analytics offering with an emphasis on decisions and operational use cases
  • Partner with stakeholders to understand business context, decisions, and operational processes while translating stakeholder needs into analysis and data product requirements
  • Champion a Data Centric Culture — where stakeholders are empowered by data to make the right decisions at the right time
