About The Position

This role involves initiating the development and deployment of data analytics in support of Intermountain Health’s key strategy of Expanding Proactive Care. As a Data Analyst-Technical-Senior, you will act in a more senior capacity, contributing to strategic initiatives, clinical standards, and operational goals through data insights. Reporting to senior leaders in Proactive Care Finance, you will collaborate with business and clinical leaders across Intermountain Health to effectively forecast financial performance under alternative payment models and to optimize outcomes in an integrated system. The team ensures financial modeling is supported with the use of accurate, thorough data and statistical analyses. We are committed to offering flexible work options where approved and stated in the job posting. Please note that a video interview through Microsoft Teams will be required as well as potential onsite interviews and meetings. This role will work Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm. Although this position can work remotely, incumbent will have the option to work on-site if preferred. The qualified candidate must be prepared to travel periodically to locations in which Intermountain operates.

Requirements

  • Strong skills in SQL and database management tasks.
  • Proficiency in developing advanced visualizations and dashboards.
  • High proficiency in office applications for detailed reports and presentations.
  • Strong communication skills with experience presenting data insights to senior leaders.
  • Deep knowledge of healthcare data through specialized projects.
  • Experience fostering team collaboration and supporting individual development.
  • Demonstrated ability to stay updated on industry trends and advancements.
  • Proven experience in providing mentorship and guidance to junior analysts.
  • Advanced knowledge of Product Management, Project Management, or Program Management philosophies and methodologies, and capable of applying them to data analytic projects to ensure alignment with business goals and efficient execution

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in analytics related fields such as statistics, mathematics, information systems, computer science, finance, business management, or economics and four years of relevant experience performing data analysis.

  • Remain sitting or standing for long periods of time to perform work on a computer, telephone, or other equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluates alternative payment model contracts with internal and external payers to determine performance viability in an integrated system; performs make-good analyses on existing contracts and makes recommendations for renewal
  • Develops a deep understanding of customer data and business/clinical operations they support.
  • Serves as a system expert and resource for others on complex financial modeling, processes, and systems.
  • Provides project management and consultation for stakeholders across the organization.
  • Prepares complex and in-depth analysis to identify financial feasibility, trends, and risks.
  • Forecasts financial performance under mixed-payment models (e.g., FFS, bundles, shared-savings, capitation) to inform capital and operational plans.
  • Establishes reporting, KPIs, and performance monitoring for key proactive care strategies
  • Fulfills complex customer requests through data exploration, report development, and visual storytelling.
  • Independently provides project updates and communicates analytic findings to their customers.
  • Leads analytic work demonstrations and hands-on training for customers to promote understanding and independent consumption of analytic work.
  • Enhances their technical skillset through individual learning and participation in Intermountain analytic community educational offerings, guided by their leader.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and advancements
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior analysts
