About The Position

The position involves understanding and articulating the business case of business questions and the estimated value being delivered. The role includes designing dashboards and analyses, selecting appropriate visualization and analytics tools, and identifying trends and patterns to address business questions. The individual will work with other data and analytics professionals to optimize, refine, automate, and scale analysis into repeatable analytics solutions and decision support tools. Responsibilities include building reporting dashboards, providing insights through data visualization, researching continuous improvement in data visualization, and translating business needs into technical specifications.

Requirements

  • Foundational level of proficiency in technical design optimization, decision making, systems thinking, data visualization, data storytelling, data mining, illustration, creative thinking, and problem solving.
  • Intermediate level of proficiency in insights design, insights development and reporting, verbal and written communication skills, collaboration and team skills, analytical and problem-solving skills, and data-driven decision making.
  • Typically between 2 - 4 years of relevant experience and a post-secondary degree in a related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Technical proficiency gained through education and/or business experience.

Responsibilities

  • Build various reporting dashboards using appropriate data extraction, data cleaning, and data visualization techniques.
  • Provide value through insights, reporting, and data visualization techniques.
  • Select, configure, and implement analytics solutions for consistency and repeatability.
  • Research and apply continuous improvement in data visualization by identifying trends and patterns.
  • Work with different teams, management, and stakeholders to enhance usability and aesthetic appeal of data analytics solutions.
  • Translate business needs to technical specifications and evaluate existing data visualization systems.
  • Develop data visualizations of large amounts of data for intuitive presentation to decision makers.
  • Document data flow, systems, and processes to improve design, implementation, and management of business/group processes.
  • Develop tools and deliver training programs for reporting tools and self-serve analytics.
  • Exercise judgment to identify, diagnose, and solve problems within given rules.
  • Work independently on a range of complex tasks.
