A large and growing company is seeking a Data Analyst/Purchasing Agent who will be responsible for analyzing procurement data, identifying trends, and making data-driven decisions to optimize purchasing strategies. The role involves collecting, analyzing, and interpreting procurement data to uncover trends and insights that can inform purchasing strategies. The Data Analyst/Purchasing Agent will develop and maintain dashboards and reports to monitor key performance indicators related to purchasing activities, ensuring that the company can make informed decisions based on accurate data analysis. In this position, the individual will utilize data analytics tools to forecast demand and assess supplier performance, providing actionable insights to inform procurement strategies and decision-making. The role also includes maintaining sheets that track various metrics such as on-time shipment, first pass rates, price lists for raw materials, packaging and finished goods, and product margins. The Data Analyst/Purchasing Agent will identify and evaluate potential suppliers based on price, quality, and reliability, negotiating contracts and terms to secure the best deals for the company. Additionally, the individual will manage relationships with key suppliers to ensure timely delivery and compliance with contract terms, monitor inventory levels, and coordinate with suppliers to maintain optimal stock levels. Processing purchase orders and ensuring accurate documentation of transactions is also a critical part of the role. The Data Analyst/Purchasing Agent will assist in scheduling production with the long-term goal of taking over that role, working closely with other areas such as finance, operations, and logistics to align purchasing strategies with overall business goals. Effective communication with internal stakeholders to understand their procurement needs and provide timely solutions is essential. The role may also involve cross-training to provide backup in areas such as Quality Control.
