This is a hybrid role with the expectation that time working will regularly take place inside and outside of a company office. We are looking for candidates who live within a commutable drivable distance to our Raleigh, NC, Phoenix, AZ or Jacksonville, FL office. This position is responsible for gathering, organizing, and analyzing large data sets using statistical techniques and tools, to ensure data quality, integrity and compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and Bank policies that assist management with making informed business decisions. Serves as liaison to the Bank's control groups and external vendors to ensure compliance with various controls and change management requirements. Implements technological solutions to support availability of analytical information being used by the Business.

  • Gathers, organizes, and sorts data to develop moderately complex data models for the department, business unit staff, and other stakeholders.
  • Accesses structured and unstructured systems across the organization, utilizing coding efforts where needed to meet testing requirements.
  • Provides effective and timely communications on findings.
  • Develops and maintains databases and systems ensuring data is in a readable, organized format.
  • Removes corrupted data and corrects coding errors and related problems.
  • Troubleshoots department information systems in a timely and effective manner as needed.
  • Identifies process improvement opportunities, proposes system modifications, and devises data governance strategies.
  • Analyzes and produces reporting for management and other stakeholders regarding the Bank's risks, trends, patterns, and exceptions.
  • Assists senior management with compiling, preparing, and completing of committee presentations, annual audit plan, and risk assessments.
  • Provides support for the department regarding technical inquiries by coordinating with external vendors or internal subject matter experts.
  • Bachelor's Degree and 4 years of experience in Banking, financial or other directly related industry OR High School Diploma or GED and 8 years of experience in Banking, financial or other directly related industry.
  • Previous experience in model development, building statistical models.
  • Strong experience with SQL, SAS and/or Python.
  • Preferred Area of Study: Mathematics, statistics, computer science, information management.
  • Experience in R, C# and Java a plus.
  • Model development experience supporting banking/finance/fraud.
  • Quantitative analyst experience.
