About The Position
The Data Analyst Intern will play a crucial role in supporting data-driven decision-making processes by extracting insights from various data sources. This internship is designed for individuals who are eager to learn and contribute to the project team or departments by developing and maintaining reporting and analytical tools such as Excel, Smartsheet, and Power BI. The intern will be responsible for cleaning data to ensure its quality, maintaining data privacy and security, and creating visualizations and reports to communicate findings effectively. Additionally, the intern will assist in preparing construction data for data science initiatives, which may involve working closely with data analysts and other team members. The position requires the intern to work on-site for 40 hours a week over a minimum of 10 weeks during the Summer of 2025. Responsibilities include extracting, transforming, and loading data from diverse sources for analysis and reporting, checking data quality, and cleaning data as necessary. The intern will also help maintain reports and dashboards for Department Managers and Project Managers, create reports and dashboards in Power BI, and assist with various tasks related to construction projects. This role will involve mining historical construction data, improving data quality, and contributing to data strategy efforts, including updating data flowcharts and creating data swim lanes. Moreover, the intern will engage in data science efforts by identifying opportunities for machine learning or Python automation, sourcing data for data science activities, preparing data for training and testing machine learning algorithms, and building data science workflows. The intern will also host meetings to share knowledge with the Data team, document meeting minutes, and follow up on action items. Completing data courses in platforms like DataCamp, Enterprise DNA, and LinkedIn Learning is also part of the internship experience.
