Nautilus Insurance is seeking a Data Analyst II to work in our Scottsdale AZ headquarters. This position involves leading advanced business analysis using various sophisticated techniques. The Data Analyst II will research best practices and spearhead the development of innovative solution recommendations for current business operations. They will collaborate with internal and external customers to identify complex analytical requirements, transforming data into critical information and knowledge for strategic business decisions. Ensuring the highest standards of data accuracy, congruence, and reliability is essential, so data is readily available for direct consumption or integration with other systems. The role also includes conducting in-depth analyses of functional business processes and requirements and driving the development of business cases to support process enhancements.

  • Support production underwriting, claims, and other departments.
  • Run month-end reports and manage regularly scheduled and ad-hoc reports.
  • Ensure the highest standards of data accuracy, congruence, and reliability.
  • Convert complex data sets into actionable insights for strategic decision-making.
  • Conduct thorough analyses of functional business processes and requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal and external customers to identify advanced analytical needs.
  • Drive the development of business cases to support significant process changes.
  • Document processes and methodologies to ensure consistency and knowledge sharing.
  • Responsible for accurate and quick judgment to identify and implement strategies to address business needs by connecting technical expertise with business knowledge and insightful examination.
  • 5-10 years relevant professional analytic experience required.
  • Insurance industry knowledge is strongly preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL, Excel, and report generation.
  • Familiarity with relational data models and manipulating data granularity/level of detail.
  • Strong familiarity with PowerBI is preferred.
  • Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple high-priority projects simultaneously.
  • Deep understanding of how data supports key business processes.
  • Capability to delve into the source, definition, philosophy, and foundational roots of data elements.
  • Proven track record of working independently with initiative and driving results.
  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in data, business, or science related field required.
