The Data Analyst I is responsible for implementing best information technology data management practices in an effort to improve and ensure quality, streamline data cleaning efforts and deliver analyzable databases within agreed upon project timelines. A data analyst/bioinformatician position is available in the laboratory to investigate the genetic, genomic, and systems-level factors contributing to the risk and progression of complex human diseases. The successful candidate will apply statistical, computational, and bioinformatics approaches to analyze large-scale genetic, genomic, and clinical datasets. The ultimate goal is to identify genes, pathways, and molecular networks underlying relevant traits and comorbidities, and to support biomarker discovery and drug repurposing efforts.

  • Integrate and analyze diverse genetic, genomic, and clinical data to uncover pathways associated with complex diseases.
  • Apply statistical and computational methods for large cohort analyses.
  • Engage in independent problem solving using established and emerging scientific and statistical frameworks.
  • Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team in a dynamic and intellectually stimulating research environment.
  • Bachelors degree in computer science, statistics and/or related field, or combination of equivalent work experience and education.
  • 2-3 years database application/management experience, preferably in a large medical center or healthcare environment.
  • Masters degree in relevant field of study preferred.
