Collaborates with team members to assist in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data sets. The Data Analyst I will work on a team engaged in a neuroimaging research program at the Athinoula A. Martinos Center for Biomedical Imaging at Massachusetts General Brigham and Harvard Medical School. We investigate alterations in brain function, structure, cognition and molecular pathology in normal aging and Alzheimer's disease. The analyst will play a central role in building the data infrastructure for laboratory research and supporting collaborative research across these datasets. The analyst will work closely with the PI and collaborators on defined projects, with the expectation that they will gradually develop the independence to manage components of analyses and data workflows across studies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree Analytics required or Bachelor's Degree Related Field of Study required.
  • Can accept experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Building proficiency in statistics, data analysis, and data sets.
  • Proficient in time management and project management skills.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment to make decisions within the scope of job responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and skill in word processing, spreadsheet, and database PC applications.
  • Solid quantitative, analytical, and technical aptitude skills.
  • Participate in dealing with all levels of employees /management and building proficient relationships with teams and all organizational customers.
  • Able to find and define problems, understand business impact, identify solutions, and provide recommendations for corrective action.

  • Data Analysis Experience 0-1 year preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Development, implementation, and cataloging of statistical analysis plans across the lab for ongoing projects.
  • Rapid assembly and manipulation of datasets for analysis.
  • Implementing data quality control workflows and version control (e.g., Git).
  • Implementation of statistical analysis plans to produce results for eventual publication and conference dissemination for other lab personnel.
  • Development and/or implementation of new analytic tools/statistical packages and providing training and assistance to other researchers on the use and function of analytic and visualization tools (predominantly using R).
  • Researching, assessing, and implementing novel statistical models and approaches (predominantly using R).
  • Working with researchers to develop and implement statistical data analytics and visualizations in service of research aims.
  • Assisting PI(s) with his/her analyses, as well as working on own analyses and publications.
  • Writes and runs basic queries as needed.
  • Assists in maintaining existing reporting systems.
  • Contributes to presentations to key stakeholders.
  • Works with senior analysts to design, maintain, and distribute reports.
  • Learn leading practice analysis methodologies.
  • Conduct continuous analysis of current performance and accurately forecast data trends.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
