About The Position

The Data Analyst at Boardwalk will serve as a key enabler of data-driven decision-making across the entire organization. This role is responsible for transforming complex datasets into clear, actionable insights that support strategic initiatives, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement. The analyst will work closely with teams across operations, engineering, commercial, finance, and environmental functions to deliver high-impact analytics and visualizations. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment, enjoys solving business problems through data, and is passionate about building intuitive dashboards and reports that empower users at all levels of the organization. The analyst will be instrumental in advancing our business intelligence capabilities and fostering a culture of data literacy and transparency. Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in data analysis, preferably in the energy, utilities, or industrial sectors
  • Proficiency in SQL, Excel, and data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau)
  • Experience with Python or R for data manipulation and statistical analysis
  • Strong understanding of pipeline operations, asset performance, or commercial energy markets
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate data into business insights
  • Ability to communicate insights effectively to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Eagerness to learn and grow in a collaborative, fast-paced environment

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the natural gas midstream or broader oil & gas industry
  • Familiarity with SCADA systems, GIS data, or pipeline integrity data
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and data lake architectures
  • Knowledge of regulatory reporting, emissions tracking, or ESG metrics
  • Relevant certifications such as CPDA, Power BI, Google Data Analytics, or Tableau, reflecting skills in data management, visualization, and business intelligence

Responsibilities

  • Design and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI or Tableau to support real-time and historical analysis
  • Create compelling visualizations that communicate trends, performance metrics, and operational insights to stakeholders across the company
  • Automate recurring reports and develop self-service analytics tools to empower business users
  • Analyze operational, financial, and asset performance data to identify patterns, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement
  • Support cross-functional initiatives such as emissions tracking, predictive maintenance, and customer analytics
  • Perform data cleansing, transformation, and validation to ensure accuracy and consistency
  • Work closely with teams across the organization to understand their data needs and deliver tailored analytical solutions
  • Translate business questions into analytical frameworks and present findings in a clear, actionable format
  • Promote data literacy and foster a culture of data-driven decision-making
  • Use SQL and Python to query, manipulate, and analyze large datasets from various systems (e.g., SCADA, GIS, ERP)
  • Collaborate with data engineers to ensure reliable data pipelines and integration across platforms
  • Maintain documentation of data sources, definitions, and business logic
