About The Position

Lockton Northeast People Solutions is seeking a Data Analyst to support the Financial, Actuarial & Analytics team in providing impactful, high quality data visualizations and custom reports to clients and client service teams. The Analyst role is Lockton Northeast’s entry level analytics position and is designed for a recent college graduate or experienced professional with 1-2 years of relevant industry experience. This role is designed to provide the analyst with a robust skillset in Financial Analytics. This role participates in Lockton’s Career Foundations Program and is designed to provide the technical and practical training needed to develop the Analyst as they look forward to a successful and long-term career in the Lockton Northeast Series. In this role, you will collaborate with clients, service teams, specialty practice consultants, and external partners to gather, connect, and summarize disparate data for regular updates to client-facing reports and dashboards. You will be asked to build visualizations on existing datasets, model new datasets, run ad hoc data queries against our database, and help create processes to streamline data intake. You will join a small but growing team within the larger Financial, Actuarial, & Analytics team that provides ample room for personal and professional growth. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a high level of professionalism, possess the ability to work well in both team and individual capacities, and the flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and/or years of experience equivalent
  • Experience with, or proclivity to learn, the following technologies: Power BI, SQL, and Python or a similar scripting language
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • An entrepreneurial and proactive spirit, with a desire to learn the analytical practices which support the core brokerage process and growth within the Company
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate in-depth technical analysis effectively and professionally, both verbally and in writing
  • Excellent project management skills
  • An ability to excel at multi-tasking and manage time effectively while adapting to changing priorities and tight deadlines to meet client and account team needs
  • Initiative to pursue technical excellence through professional designations, industry workshops, etc.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States, and will not require sponsorship now or in the future

Nice To Haves

  • Previous insurance brokerage, health insurance, population health analytics, or well-being vendor experience preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with teams across the Northeast Series to collect and combine data from multiple sources
  • Maintain client-facing dashboards and run ad hoc reports to help our clients manage their health and benefits plans
  • Review reports created by yourself or a team member for accuracy and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Maintain and regularly update the internal team open-items log to ensure all team members are informed of current workstreams and their statuses.
  • Participate in needs assessments for new projects with internal and external stakeholders
  • Comply with all applicable organizational and regulatory policies, such as HIPAA, HITECH
  • Experiment with and identify opportunities to improve efficiency in various workstreams
  • Develop proficiency in technical skills by seeking out learning opportunities, attending workshops, pursuing designations and/or training courses, etc.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned
