The DOT Analyst is a technical role, responsible for configuration and advanced user support of applications and hardware/equipment used in the planning, development, deployment and operation of transportation services. Candidates should have specific domain knowledge of industry-standard applications such as GIS, Computer-Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) software, survey applications and equipment and/or experience in operational areas such as traffic controls systems, parking enforcement, etc. The DOT Analyst, under the direction of the Agency IT Portfolio Manager, will act as the technical subject matter expert for these systems, serving as the primary support resource or product owner. The analyst will be expected to develop a close understanding of business operations and the technology used to support them to ensure software solutions meet the needs of the users.

  • EDUCATION: Have a Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college or university.
  • EXPERIENCE: Have two years of related specialty IT experience (for example, but not limited to: system engineering, network engineering, information security, application programming, systems design, hierarchical/relational database management, GIS experience, custom report writing, or developing and supporting cloud-based software integration).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Previous IT work lead experience is preferred.
  • Previous IT experience in government is preferred.
  • Advanced technical credentials, e.g., Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), preferred.
