About The Position

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Data Analyst / Accounting Support professional to join our team in a fast-paced precision machine shop environment. This role directly supports the Controller and plays a critical part in strengthening our accounting processes, improving data visibility, and driving operational efficiency. The ideal candidate combines strong accounting knowledge with advanced data and computer skills, and is motivated to enhance systems through automation, including the use of AI and improved inventory practices. Requirements

  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills including oral and written communication, with the ability to present financial and operational data clearly to cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to learn and apply product knowledge and manufacturing processes to support inventory accuracy, WIP analysis, and product costing.
  • Proficiency in using ERP systems (Global Shop preferred), customer portals, and data tools to analyze and manage business information.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and provide actionable insights to support accounting, production, and management decisions.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, support corporate data requests, and identify opportunities for process improvements, including automation and AI-driven solutions.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Data Analytics, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 2+ years of experience in accounting, data analysis, or a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Ability to demonstrate strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate financial and operational data to internal teams, including accounting, production, and management.
  • Ability to prepare reports, correspondence, and respond to corporate data requests clearly and professionally.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to perform calculations related to inventory, WIP, and product costing.
  • Ability to analyze financial and operational data, including variances, margins, and performance metrics.
  • Proficiency in working with whole numbers, decimals, ratios, and percentages.
  • Ability to develop and interpret KPIs, trends, and data models to support decision-making.
  • Ability to create and interpret graphs, charts, and reports for financial and production analysis.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to interpret complex data sets and provide actionable insights to support decision-making.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to identify process improvement opportunities, including automation and efficiency enhancements.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel (pivot tables, lookups, data modeling).
  • Experience using ERP systems (Global Shop preferred) and customer portals.
  • High level of computer proficiency with the ability to learn and optimize new systems and technologies quickly.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with automation tools or AI applications in accounting or data analysis is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain cycle count inventory processes to ensure high inventory accuracy
  • Perform detailed WIP (Work-in-Process) analysis to track production performance and costs
  • Conduct product costing reviews and support cost improvement initiatives
  • Manage and support Accounts Receivable (AR) activities, including tracking and reconciliation
  • Assist Accounts Payable (AP) with data handling, reporting, and process improvements
  • Analyze and extract data from customer portals and Global Shop ERP system to support customer account management
  • Provide data support and reporting in response to corporate requests, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Support the Controller with general accounting functions, including journal entries and financial reporting
  • Develop and maintain KPIs and performance metrics to provide visibility into production and financial performance
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve efficiency in manufacturing accounting systems, including automation and AI-driven solutions
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with production, operations, and accounting teams to improve data accuracy and reporting
  • Adhere to health and safety laws and policies established by the company.
