The Data Analyst 2 position is assigned to the Data Analytics Unit within the Human Rights Division. The role involves producing business intelligence solutions by analyzing data repositories and creating written reports. The analyst will devise methods for identifying data patterns and trends, collaborate with subject matter experts to define technical requirements, assess data structures for reporting, and research new data sources and analytical tools. The position also includes implementing internal process improvements, conducting tests to ensure business intelligence solutions meet defined needs, and drafting new functions in programming languages for analysis. Additionally, the Data Analyst 2 will supervise lower-level staff within the unit.

  • Produce business intelligence solutions by analyzing data repositories and creating written reports.
  • Devise methods for identifying data patterns and trends in data sources.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and stakeholders to define technical requirements and project scope.
  • Assess data structures and how they can be used to produce desired reports.
  • Research new data sources and analytical tools to achieve data reliability standards.
  • Provide solution recommendations to leadership.
  • Implement internal process improvements, such as automating manual processes and optimizing data delivery.
  • Conduct or coordinate tests to ensure that business intelligence solutions are consistent with defined needs.
  • Test, validate, and reformulate models to ensure accurate prediction of outcomes of interest.
  • Draft new functions or applications in programming languages to conduct analysis.
  • Create written reports and effectively communicate results to staff and leadership.
  • Supervise Data Analyst 1 and lower-level staff within the unit.
  • Seven years of experience in data visualization, statistical models, and data mining tools.
  • An associate's degree may substitute for two years of general experience.
  • A bachelor's degree may substitute for four years of general experience.
  • A master's degree in data or computer science, informatics, economics, statistics, mathematics, or a related field may substitute for one year of general experience.
  • A Ph.D. in these fields may substitute for two years of general experience.
