About The Position

As a member of the Research & Data Analysis team at the Florida Department of Corrections, our mission is to provide accurate, timely, and insightful data to support informed decision-making and policy development. We are committed to conducting thorough research and analysis to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of our correctional programs and operations. Our goal is to contribute to the safety and security of our facilities and the community by delivering reliable data that drives evidence-based practices and continuous improvement. This position is not a telework position and is required to report to the FDC office in the area it serves.

Requirements

  • Four (4) years’ professional experience administering databases or applications.
  • Postsecondary education may substitute on a year for year basis for two (2) of the required years.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional experience inputting, using or analyzing People First data, Offender-Based Information System data, and Computerized Criminal History data.
  • Professional experience with ETL and quality assurance processes.
  • Professional experience complying with confidentiality regulations and guidelines. (e.g. Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act, Criminal Justice Information Services Security Policy)
  • Professional experience with data collection, cleansing, aggregation and analysis.
  • Experience with software installation.

Responsibilities

  • Handle data management tasks like ETL, quality assurance and data governance.
  • Handle data analysis tasks such as creating reports using SAS, SQL, PowerBI and other software.
  • Maintain the SAS data warehouse and SAS environment.
  • Work with the Office of Information Technology to create and maintain data pipelines. Install and troubleshoot SAS software and assist with hardware and software purchases.
  • Provide technical support and training to bureau staff.
