About The Position

In this role, you will assist in our data discovery efforts to acquire new data sources & data sources within ADP to support our data governance effort by guarding our clients & employee data with metadata cataloging, data quality management, issue resolution, and security via data access entitlements that will protect our brand and ensure appropriate use of our enterprise data assets. The Data Governance Lead Analyst role combines analyzing and researching, communications and project management- identifying the business need or opportunity, understanding and sharing data knowledge, supporting business data stewards and data domain owners, and building a foundation for effective data governance collaboration across our business functions. You will be responsible for documenting and fulfilling data governance use cases from multiple business units. This includes use case discovery, gathering data requirements, analysis and research, leading data acquisition, and documenting metadata to support our enterprise data governance effort. Our structured data governance effort includes: cataloging, PII identification, access entitlements, data lineage, and data quality management. You will provide guidance to our business data stewards on adherence of our data governance policies, standards, and processes and oversee technical fulfillment to house the metadata within our data governance toolset. You will also be responsible for measuring end user engagement with our data governance tools, and providing support and training to ensure our success with data governance. To thrive in this career, you’ll need to be data curious and be willing to dive in and thoroughly understand the value proposition for each data source along with a risk reduction mindset. You will have subject matter expertise in data governance & data management practices with demonstrated experience, i.e. DCAM framework and/or DAMA wheel, and be familiar with popular catalog, data quality and data security tools.

Requirements

  • Your 5-7 years of data management experience (CDMP/DCAM certification preferred) will ensure your success.
  • Should have work experience with big data on an enterprise level including a strong understanding of data models, data relationships and interactions.
  • Basic/intermediate SQL skills are a must, and a former technical/developer background is a nice to have
  • Data Loss Prevention (DLP) skills such as identifying, monitoring, and protecting sensitive data through technical and procedural expertise using Data Security Posture Management (DSPM) tools for real-time threat detection, remediation and prevention. Key skills include data classification, policy development & configuration, and risk assessment
  • Demonstrated ability to absorb complex concepts and are outcome focused and drive development of actionable, achievable, and measurable improvements.
  • You are an influencer with the ability to communicate with diverse groups and influence change throughout the organization
  • Proven track record in change management, process improvement, technology, and business transformation.
  • You have an upbeat, persistent style and enjoy meeting new people and forming relationships. You can manage your time well, prioritize deliverables, and multi-task with the best of them. In addition, you can present your ideas in a clear, professional manner on paper, in-person, and over the phone.

Responsibilities

  • Subject Matter Expert. You will be providing your guidance and expertise with regards to data acquisition, data governance, and data management best practices.
  • Data Knowledge. You will be driving the collection of metadata on internal/external data sources to provide a foundation for enterprise data governance. You will need to dive into the data to thoroughly understand it including data profiling and data quality. You will be seen as a data expert and can guide users to the best sources of data to solve their needs.
  • Collaboration. You will need to influence & collaborate with internal stakeholders including Business Units, Information Security, Data Privacy, Legal and others to align the use cases, data requirements and access framework within existing ADP policies and standards. You will also need to work with vendors to address data & business requirements.
