Perform clinical review of a medical record and summarize the findings to facilitate additional review. Reviews patient non-compliance lists and conducts outreach to ensure timely disease specific and wellness visits. Collects and tracks monthly, quarterly and annual process improvement measures. Conducts analysis of data in cooperation with the medical staff to assist in identification of improvement activities. Understands current issues, practices and trends in healthcare and communicates to employees as appropriate. Presents data collected in an organized format to facilitate analysis and identification of improvement opportunities. Provides documented reports of findings from data collection as requested. Provides education to medical staff members and hospital staff as appropriate to enhance performance and documentation. Other duties as assigned Must be located in Tucson, AZ Supports clinical performance through abstraction, review, and reporting of medical record clinical documentation and billing assessment, to support initiatives related to quality improvement, accreditation, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED required with completion of Medical Assistant Program strongly preferred.
  • Two (2) years of clerical and customer service.
  • Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
  • Working knowledge of clinical workflows
  • Knowledge of Electronic Health Systems
  • Knowledge of ICD-9 and CPT codes
  • Skill in multi-tasking.
  • Skill in customer service.
  • Skill in computer hardware and software use.
  • Skill in verbal and written communication.
  • Skill in exercising a high degree of initiative, judgment, discretion, and decision-making to achieve organizational objectives.
  • Skill in analyzing situations accurately and taking effective action.
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with employees, policy-making bodies, third-party payers, patients, and the public.
  • Skill in organizing work, making assignments, and achieving goals and objectives.
  • Skill in exercising judgment and discretion in developing, applying, interpreting, and coordinating departmental policies and procedures.
  • Standard office equipment including computers, fax machines, copiers, printers, telephones, calculators, etc.
  • Involves sitting approximately 75 percent of the day, walking or standing the remainder, using computers and telephones.
